Like.com is looking for a versatile Computer Vision and Machine Learning Researcher to join our world-class team of Software Engineers, Research Engineers, and PhDs.
Job Responsibilities
• Conceive, plan, and implement major research and development activities.
• Conduct research in computer vision & machine learning area related to clustering, segmentation, image similarity, object detection etc.
• Work closely with the other research group members as a thought partner to focus research and development efforts associated with the interrelated group of technologies and strengthen the in-house activities of the team.
• Work closely with the engineering team in deploying scaleable computer vision solutions.
• Juggle several projects at once in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
Qualifications
• Expertise in statistical classification and machine learning techniques.
• 2+ years experience in research and development within the broad area of computer vision as applied to areas such as: visual clustering, image similarity, face detection, object detection, object classification, segmentation, face recognition and generic image processing.
• Proficiency in programming in C/C++ and Matlab. Experience in Java is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of databases, and SQL is a big plus.
• Good knowledge of scripting languages, such as perl or phyton.
• Familiarity with computational linguistics, information retrieval, data mining, and statistics is a big plus.
• Familiarity with Java, O/RM (Hibernate), widely used Spring framework concepts is a plus.
• Excellent analytical thinking abilities.
• PhD from a top tier school.
