Position Summary
This job entails the development of computer vision software to extract three-dimensional (3D) human pose and shape from images. The successful candidate will implement new computer vision algorithms for estimating 3D pose from 2D image information and fitting a parametric model of 3D shape to image cues. They will also develop new machine learning algorithms to model the statistical variation in human shape across different people and different poses. The job also entails the development of new user interfaces related to applications of this technology in the domains of health, video games and the garment industry. This job will involve interacting with a group of researchers and programmers and supporting a diverse software system.

Job Qualifications

Education level: BS in computer science or related area, or commensurate experience

Required Skills: Experience in computer vision software development, 3D graphics, machine learning. Must be proficient in Matlab. Knowledge of Java and C ++ is desirable. Knowledge of web development environments such as Ruby on Rails is desirable. Experience with 3D graphics, shading, rendering, visibility, illumination, etc. is essential. Good knowledge of linear algebra, calculus and probability is essential. Computer vision experience in pose estimation, tracking, segmentation, shape from shading, and Bayesian estimation is essential.

Preferred Skills: Strong communication skills, written and oral; strong organizational skills; strong troubleshooting, debugging and problem solving skills. Must be self motivated, inquisitive, and team oriented; strong analytical, creative, and design skills.
