Google announces $1M to support vision and graphics research at UW

Under a new program, "Focused Research Awards", Google is committing one million dollars to the University of Washington to support computer vision and graphics research led by Professors Steve Seitz, Brian Curless, and Zoran Popovic. According to a press release, the UW researchers are focused on very large scale 3D modeling and rendering from photos, interactive simulations and games, and realistic computer animation.
