PhD at King's College London
There is a vacant PhD studentship in Intelligent Medical Imaging at the Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, King's College London & the Department of Computer Science, Imperial College London
As part of an exciting new research project, applications are invited for a PhD studentship on an innovative programme of research in developing intelligent algorithms for medical imaging in the presence of motion. The studentship is part of a 5 year EPSRC programme grant initiative between King’s College London, Imperial College London, University College London and the Institute of Cancer Research that aims to change the way medical imaging is currently used. The objectives of the project are to extract information that can be used to inform diagnosis and guide therapy directly from the measurements of imaging devices, particularly MRI scanners. The research will be carried out as a collaboration between computer scientists, imaging scientists and clinicians.
The project will be co-supervised by Dr Andy King from King’s College London and Prof. Daniel Rueckert from Imperial College London. The student can expect to spend some time based at both institutions. Therefore this is an exciting opportunity to work within two internationally-leading research groups and in a cross-disciplinary environment.
Applicants for the PhD studentship should have, or be predicted to have, a first or upper-second class degree in physics, computer science, mathematics, engineering or similar scientific subject. Applicants with an MSc. or MPhil. or equivalent are also invited. Relevant project or other experience would be an advantage.

The PhD studentship will include bursaries and tuition fees for 3 years for EU students. Applications and informal enquiries should be made to Dr Andrew King (andrew.king@kcl.ac.uk).
