JOB SUMMARY
Performs research and development in support of GeoEye's imagery and information products. Generates and prototypes algorithms and techniques to enhance and automate production processes. Develops and implements the Quality Management System in compliance with the ANSI-ASQ-ISO-9001 standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES /% of Time
1. As directed by the Integrated Product Team and other groups within GeoEye, develops prototype information products and production methods. 60%
2. Performs in-house research and development on the spatial and multispectral feature extraction techniques and
tools. 20%
3. Collaborates with leading industrial and academic research institutes in applying new approaches to GeoEye products and production processes. 10%
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Completes special projects and performs other duties as requested.
Keeps abreast of developments within industry and academia which relate to GeoEye 's imagery and information products.
Supports ISO Implementation at GeoEye. 10%

Interacts with internal and external employees at all levels.

EDUCATION
Masters in related field, Ph.D. preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3+ years applicable experience. Strong C++ programming skills.
Strong algorithm development and computer analysis skills.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Strong math and computer skills in both algorithm development and code generation.
Strong C++ coding experience; able to operate a personal computer
Strong knowledge of Image Understanding, Computer Vision and Image Processing with focus on spatial feature extraction from aerial/satellite imagery or focus on algorithms for processing remotely sensed imagery.
Extensive experience with multispectral algorithm development
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES/CLEARANCES
Due to the nature of the position, US Citizenship required.
Must be able to apply for and hold a national security clearance.
