Position: Sr. Research Engineer, Image Segmentation
Description
As a member of FlashFoto, Inc.’s research team, you will collaborate with other researchers and engineers in investigating and prototyping leading-edge algorithms related to computer vision and image segmentation. Projects may relate to figure/ground separation, shape detection, object detection, and visual texture analysis.
FlashFoto is a software company developing leading-edge human-inspired algorithms for vision. Responsibilities
• Prototype computer vision algorithms emphasizing image segmentation
• Work in the MatLab environment in collaboration with other research engineers
Experience and Requirements
• Familiarity with current research in region or figure/ground segmentation
• Experience and knowledge in some or all of the following:
• Image processing (registration, segmentation, reconstruction)
• Visual attribute detection (texture, contour, shape)
• Computer graphics or numerical methods a plus
• Interest in computer vision and vision science
• Experience with MatLab or similar mathematical prototyping environment
• Strong advanced math skills, including statistical estimation theory
• 5+ years of algorithm research and development experience
• Experience working in a corporate or commercial environment
• C++ and STL algorithm development experience a plus
• Undergraduate Computer Science or Electrical Engineering degree
• Graduate level work in computer vision, vision science or a related field preferred
