Too busy to play Tetris? Tetris-Bot will do it for you!

Submitted by Boaz Super

Branislav Kisačanin has developed Tetris-Bot, a robot that plays the popular game Tetris, in which the object is to move and turn blocks of different shapes to nest neatly as they fall to the bottom of the screen. Using a webcam to view the display, a TI DM6437 DSP board to run the embedded computer vision and move-planning algorithms, and a Lego NXT robotic hand to press the keyboard keys, the robot plays Tetris well. Computer Vision Central has published an interview with Dr. Kisačanin about his book, Embedded Computer Vision, which is hosted on this site.
